Street Legal Requirements

 
The Street Car™ meets or exceeds all Federal Standards set forth from Title 49, Part 571.500.
 
The list below defines the standard features of all our street legal golf cars:
 
  • Headlights and taillights with turn signals and brake lights
  • Third brake light
  • License plate light
  • Four sets of seatbelts
  • Speedometer
  • Horn
  • DOT Approved Tires
  • DOT Approved Windshield
  • Windshield Wiper
  • Amber reflectors on all corners of the vehicle
  • Minimum speed of at least 21 mph
  • Maximum speed of 25 mph
  • One drivers side external mirror
  • One internal mirror
  • 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number, V.I.N.
 
The chassis is an aluminum Club Car chassis. Currently we are remanufacturing used frames into new Street Cars™. The durability of the aluminum chassis is significant to the long life of our cars.
 
The Golf Cart Outlet, Inc is currently using new Trojan batteries in our Street Car™. The DS-1 and the DS-1X currently have the T860 battery as their standard. The DS-2 and DS-2X have the T875 battery pack which gives additional driving time. The Woody and the Cab Car have the T890 set as the standard battery. The High End battery, T890 gives approximately 40 miles of driving time on a single charge.
